While driving it is almost impossible to see the black ice on time. These thermal images clearly "show" the black ice but should these be properly applied to reduce on-road risks, i don't think that the iron color pallet is useful. It would be best to use a higher contrast pallet such as rainbow to clearly spot the black ice since i repeat, using iron pallet is good but if you had a thermal camera in your car you still would not have been able to spot it on time.
